Across season 1, “The Handler” worked as the main antagonist and driving force for the plot. Always calling Mark to get status updates on their mission, going so far as infiltrating the company himself in order to directly challenge Mark and how he “Left that life behind him”.

“The Handler” now revealed as Maurice, starts the Season as a changed man, having gone through a spiritual journey in between seasons. He initially refuses to help Mark, but is then “convinced” after realizing how big a threat to his own security “Charlotte” can be.
